  • Collaboration between the NSW Government, Australian Fashion Council and fashion industry has secured an industry-led future for Fashion Week, 12th – 16th May 2025.
  • The Australian Fashion Council (AFC) is formalising ongoing industry consultation and assembling best-in-class providers to deliver the event.

Sydney, Australia: Fashion Week will take place from 12-16 May 2025 at Carriageworks, Sydney, supported proudly by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.

AFW founder Simon Lock is confirmed to play a crucial role, as part of the team who will deliver the 2025 event.

Fashion Week 2025 will provide a significant opportunity for the Australian fashion industry to connect with international buyers and media, spotlight their collections and amplify their global presence.

Minister for the Arts, Minister for Music and the Night-time Economy, and Minister for Jobs and Tourism John Graham said: “Fashion Week is an essential showcase of one of our largest creative industries, highlighting the depth of talent not only in NSW but throughout Australia.

“The industry has come together swiftly, pulling together its great expertise, to ensure that Fashion Week can go ahead in 2025. The NSW Government is pleased to confirm its continued support of the event.”

AFC Chair Marianne Perkovic said: “Thank you to the NSW Government and the entire fashion industry for their commitment and collaboration. The AFC looks forward to delivering a world-class experience in 2025 and evolving the event in the future.

“Fashion Week 2025 will mark a crucial milestone in the journey towards a truly industry-led event for Australian fashion. Our consultation has reinforced that the AFC is best positioned to lead this transformation, much like its successful international counterparts. Lock and the AFC are working to assemble a team with extensive Fashion Week experience to guide the event’s delivery. The approach will ensure the event continues to benefit designers, buyers and the entire fashion ecosystem while driving long-term value for the industry. The event will rearm Australia’s role as a global fashion hub, fostering economic growth and innovation across the fashion and textiles sector.

Hawkesbury to Host Spectacular Two-Day Asian Fashion Festival Amid Australian Fashion Week

Hawkesbury, Australia – The Asian Fashion Festival, Heritage Runway 2025, is excited to announce its inaugural event scheduled for 17 May at Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury and 18 May at Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens, coinciding with the prestigious Australian Fashion Week at Carriageworks, Sydney from 12-16 May.

This groundbreaking festival aims to celebrate multicultural fashion, sustainability, and creativity while providing a vibrant platform for designers and models from diverse backgrounds.

Supported by Hawkesbury City Council and Sydney Academy of Makeup, the two-day event is set to be held in the iconic Blue Mountains, and will feature exclusive runway shows, designer showcases, and workshops that explore both global styles and ethical fashion practices.

With a focus on promoting diversity and innovation in fashion, organisers invite fashion designers to join labels, Marissa O’Donnell, Mr Ginoo and kvrichardson and register to participate in this unique opportunity to showcase their collections as part of the festival.

“Not only will designers have the opportunity to showcase their collections on the runway, but also engage with industry experts through interactive sessions focused on sustainability and fashion innovation,” said Regal Star Productions CEO, Lovely Bandal.

“These workshops will provide valuable insights into the future of fashion and how we can collectively work towards a more sustainable industry.”

The event will also offer designers exclusive networking opportunities to connect with fashion professionals, media representatives, influencers, and buyers who are all gathered for this unique event celebrating global fashion and culture.

In addition to celebrating fashion designers, the Asian Fashion Festival is excited to discover and promote up-and-coming models who are eager to make their mark in the fashion industry.

A model casting will be held on 15 March between 12-4pm at Kowboy Grill Blacktown and is open to the public.

“We are seeking models from 16 to 40 years old who are beginners through to professionals from all over Australia,” said Ms Bandal.
